Tatyana Bukhantsova: an energetic, positive-thinking, and creative woman who does a great job with whatever she takes on, the sort of person who gives you hope and makes you start believing in good and victory. Since 1988, Tatyana has been working as a teacher of extra-curricular activities in the Children’s House of Arts in the Kavkazskaya village in the Krasnodar region. There are four members of her family: Tatyana herself, her husband and two children aged 21 and 17.

Her family, her job and her house – it all requires times and energy. Nowadays, every woman just wants to have enough hours in the day to accomplish everything they need – to do chores around the house and cook healthy and delicious food! In the village, owning land definitely helps. Tatyana's garden is 80 square meters, and she also owns chickens and turkeys. Tending to the garden and taking care of the animals usually takes up between three to four hours after work each day. Tatyana’s daughter, Nastya (short for Anastasia), does a lot of things around the house.
The family’s favorite dish is okroshka (cold vegetable soup). For breakfast, everyone prefers to eat oatmeal, since it’s not only cheap but also healthy. The family's only regret is that they are no longer able to afford buckwheat, even though it’s so healthy.

Everyone knows that vitamins are vital for our well-being. And every mother knows that children need to eat fruit all year round, but prices are high, especially in the winter. Fortunately, though, Tatyana is not one to despair. She grows a lot of products in her garden, and deep-freezes fruit for the winter. As she sees it, you can only fully trust the products that you’ve grown yourself, and it’s also a great pleasure to eat food that is a direct result of your work in the garden. Meanwhile, she's wary of the quality of food products at the grocery store, not to mention the high prices.

“I think the prices are influenced by the government, primarily the local authorities. I just wish that they would at least regulate the prices for products made by our local farmers, our entrepreneurs. I also believe that prices are affected by natural disasters. Last summer, because of the drought, we collected only half a sack of potatoes from our garden instead of the usual three sacks. When the weather’s too hot or too cold, it impacts the price of food products.”

Tatyana’s family spends most of their money on food, about 60-70% of their income. That is, if you can monetize the value of homemade products. The family has to give up some things, like sweets. The kids are grown up now and they understand that in order to get something, they have to work for it. So they help their parents. Tatyana’s life motto is this: whatever happens, it's for the best. “I like working, communicating with people, especially young, energetic, talented, good-spirited people. I like what we do. Whatever difficulties there are, my family and my work family help me overcome them. I can always feel support from people and I know that they treat me well; it’s important for me to know that I’m not alone.” And we really can see that Tatyana handles both financial and psychological challenges with great success. But really, what else is there to do?
